Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed according to package instructions)
- 1⁄4 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
- 1⁄4 cup of melted butter
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and ground cinnamon together until well combined.
3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangular sheet.
4. Brush the entire surface of the puff pastry with melted butter using a pastry brush.
5. Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mix across the entire surface of the buttered pastry.
6. Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut the pastry into strips, each about 1 inch wide.
7. Take each strip and twist gently to form a spiral and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
8. Brush the twisted strips lightly with any remaining melted butter.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the twists are puffed up and golden brown.
10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
These twists are best enjoyed fresh as they can lose their crispiness over time.
For a variation, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the cinnamon sugar mix.
These twists make for a delightful brunch addition or a sweet treat for an afternoon tea party.
Consider serving them with a dipping sauce like vanilla glaze or chocolate for added indulgence.
