Ingredients
- 1 pound beef stew meat
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
1. Place the beef stew meat into the crockpot.
2. Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over the beef.
3. Pour the beef broth over the beef and soup mix.
4. Add the Worcestershire sauce.
5. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper over the mixture.
6. Stir everything together to combine.
7. Cover and cook on low for 7–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the beef is tender.
8. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions about 15 minutes before serving.
9. Drain the noodles and set aside.
10. Mix the sour cream, cornstarch, and water until smooth.
11. Stir the sour cream mixture into the crockpot.
12. Cook for an additional 15 minutes to thicken.
13. Stir in the cooked noodles.
14. Serve immediately.
Notes
For richer flavor, brown the beef before adding it to the crockpot.
Increase cornstarch by 1 teaspoon for a thicker sauce.
Add a splash of red wine for depth.
Use any preferred noodle style.
Add crushed red pepper flakes for heat.
