Description
This Fall Fruit Salad is a vibrant mix of fresh apples, pears, grapes, and pomegranate, tossed with a spiced honey-lemon dressing and topped with crunchy nuts and seeds. It’s the perfect refreshing and festive dish for autumn gatherings.
Ingredients
Fruits
- 2 cups apples (Honeycrisp or Gala), chopped
- 2 cups pears (ripe), chopped
- 1 cup red grapes (seedless, halved)
- 1 cup green grapes (seedless, halved)
- 1 cup pomegranate arils or dried cranberries
Crunch
- 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
- 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds (optional)
Dressing
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (for vegan)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice or lime juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg (as substitute)
- a pinch nutmeg (can be skipped)
Instructions
1. Wash all fresh produce thoroughly. Core the apples and pears, then chop them into bite-sized pieces. Halve the red and green grapes and remove seeds if necessary.
2. Place all the prepared fruit into a large mixing bowl.
3. In a small bowl, combine honey (or maple syrup) with fresh lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk until smooth.
4. Drizzle dressing over the fruit and gently toss using a spatula.
5. Sprinkle in chopped pecans and pumpkin seeds.
6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
Use the freshest fruits for the best flavor and texture.
Keep the dressing separate until just before serving to prevent sogginess.
Add a handful of dried cranberries for a chewy, tart contrast if pomegranate is unavailable.
