Description

A warm autumn dessert featuring tender apple wedges baked to perfection and glazed with a rich, buttery maple syrup mixture. Perfect for cozy nights in or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Wash and core the apples, then slice them into thick wedges.

3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup, butter, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Stir until the butter melts and everything is well mixed.

4. Place the apple wedges in a baking dish and pour the warm maple mixture over them evenly.

5. Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the apples if using.

6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until the apples are tender but still hold their shape.

7. Every 10 minutes, baste the apples with the glaze from the bottom of the dish.

8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly to allow the glaze to thicken.

9. Transfer apples to serving plates and drizzle with any remaining glaze.

10. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Add a squeeze of lemon juice to the glaze for brightness. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat. You can also try substituting pears for apples or adding a splash of spiced rum to the glaze for a boozy twist.
