Description

Pumpkin Chai Cinnamon Rolls are a warm, fragrant embrace of autumn flavors. These soft, fluffy rolls swirl sweet pumpkin puree with aromatic chai spices, making them perfect for chilly mornings or cozy gatherings. Topped with a luscious cream cheese glaze, each bite transports you to a fall wonderland, inviting memories of sweater weather and family traditions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp chai spice blend
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk (warmed)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)

Instructions

1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

2. Stir in melted butter, pumpkin puree, sugar, and chai spice blend.

3. Gradually add flour until combined.

4. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth; let rise in a greased bowl for about an hour.

5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, and sprinkle with brown sugar mixed with more chai spices.

6. Roll tightly and cut into slices.

7. Place in a greased baking dish; let rise while preheating oven to 350°F.

8. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

9. For the glaze, mix cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

To enhance the chai flavor, consider adding a touch of cardamom or freshly grated ginger to the filling. These rolls can be made the night before and baked in the morning for a fresh, warm breakfast.
