Description

Soft, fluffy, and lightly sweet, these Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rolls bring the famous restaurant bread right to your kitchen—perfect for any meal or holiday table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 large egg yolk, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 11/2 teaspoons salt
  • 31/2 cups bread flour

Instructions

1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk.

2. In another bowl, combine egg, egg yolk, 1/2 cup butter, honey, salt, yeast mixture and 2 cups flour; beat on medium speed until smooth.

3. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough (dough will be sticky).

4. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes.

5. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour 15 minutes.

6. Punch down dough; turn onto a lightly floured surface.

7. Divide and shape into 24 balls; place 12 each in 2 greased 8×8-in. baking pans.

8. Cover with kitchen towels; let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.

9. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake until golden brown, 20-25 minutes.

10. Brush rolls with remaining 2 tablespoons melted butter.

Notes

Serve warm with cinnamon honey butter for an authentic experience.

For best results, make sure your milk is between 110° and 115°F to activate the yeast properly.

You can freeze the rolls after baking—just reheat in a low oven.
