Ingredients
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Cook the lasagna noodles in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain.
2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the Italian sausage; remove excess fat.
3. Sauté chopped onion in the same skillet until softened, then add minced garlic.
4. In a large pot, combine cooked sausage, sautéed onions and garlic, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; bring to simmer.
5. Stir in cooked noodles and cheeses; simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
6. Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese and fresh basil.
