Description

Bang Bang Shrimp Rice Bowls deliver bold, vibrant flavors with tender, crispy shrimp tossed in a tangy-sweet sauce over fluffy rice, topped with fresh vegetables for a satisfying weeknight delight.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup rice (jasmine or basmati)
2 cups water
1/4 cup mayonnaise (vegetable-based)
2 tbsp Sriracha (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp rice vinegar
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 cup shredded cabbage
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
2 green onions, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp paprika
Oil for frying

Instructions

Rinse the rice under cold water, then cook with 2 cups water in a pot according to package instructions.
While the rice cooks, prepare the Bang Bang sauce by whisking mayonnaise, Sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder.
In a bowl, season shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika. Lightly coat them in all-purpose flour.
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the shrimp until golden and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side.
Once cooked, add the Bang Bang sauce to the pan and toss the shrimp to coat evenly.
To assemble, divide cooked rice among bowls, top with shrimp and Bang Bang sauce, then add shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, and green onions for freshness and crunch.

Notes

Adjust the amount of Sriracha to your desired spice level.
Replace fried shrimp with baked for a lighter version.
Use brown rice for a heartier, whole-grain option.
