Description

Juicy shredded chicken, creamy avocado, and melted cheddar cheese layered between buttery toasted bread for a warm, satisfying sandwich perfect for lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 cooked chicken breasts, shredded
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a small bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

4. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, on a baking sheet.

5. Divide the chicken mixture evenly on top of the bread slices.

6. Layer the sliced avocado on top of the chicken.

7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the avocado.

8. Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, butter side up.

9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and toasted.

10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

11. Cut each sandwich in half, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

You can use whole wheat, sourdough, or ciabatta bread for different flavors and textures.

Make sure the avocado is ripe but still firm for best results.

Add cooked bacon or tomato slices for extra flavor.

For a crispier texture, toast the sandwich in a skillet instead of baking.

Handle the hot baking sheet carefully when removing from the oven.
