Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup pineapple juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare all ingredients by measuring and mincing the garlic and cilantro.
2. Heat a pan and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until melted.
3. Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant—avoid burning.
4. Add shrimp to the pan in a single layer; season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
5. Pour in pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), ground ginger, lime juice, and remaining butter; stir well. Simmer for another minute until slightly thickened.
6. Remove from heat and stir in chopped cilantro before serving.
Notes
Serve over steamed rice, in tacos, or as an appetizer.
For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes while cooking.
Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
