Description
A hearty one-pot pasta dish with tender chicken sausage, creamy tomato-based sauce, and fresh spinach. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight meals.
Ingredients
4 oz Italian chicken sausage, unseasoned
8 oz penne pasta
1 cup marinara sauce (non-alcoholic)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente, following package instructions.
While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
Add chicken sausage, cooking until no longer pink. Remove from heat.
Pour marinara sauce into the skillet, stirring in heavy cream and Parmesan. Add spinach until wilted.
Drain cooked pasta and add to the skillet, tossing to coat everything in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
Notes
Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.
Optional: Add cherry tomatoes for extra freshness.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
