Description

Savory sausage, sharp cheddar, and baking mix rolled into bite-sized balls and baked until golden. Serve with a creamy, tangy mustard dip for the ultimate party snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups baking mix (e.g., Bisquick)
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (for dip)
  • 1 tbsp mustard (for dip)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet with non-stick spray or line with parchment paper.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the baking mix, ground sausage, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and ground black pepper.

3. Mix thoroughly (hands work best) until the mixture is evenly combined and holds together.

4. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.

5. Bake for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until browned and cooked through.

6. While the sausage balls bake, whisk together the mayonnaise and mustard in a small bowl until smooth.

7. Serve the sausage balls warm with the mustard dip on the side.

Notes

Great for parties, game days, or quick snacking.

If the mixture feels dry, keep mixing—warm hands help it come together. If needed, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk.

For easier shaping, chill the mixture for 10 minutes before rolling.

Leftovers reheat well in a 350°F oven or air fryer until warmed through.
